This Privacy Policy explains how GoldIP ("GoldIP", "we", "us", or "our"), a joint initiative operated by GBAIUR — Greater Bay Area Industry-University-Research Center and MY CREATIVE CENTER, collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your information when you use the GoldIP website and services (the "Service").

1. Information we collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us, information collected automatically when you use the Service, and information from third parties.

  • Account & contact information — such as your name, email address, organization, and password when you register or contact us.
  • Usage data — pages viewed, searches performed, features used, device and browser type, IP address, and similar technical data.
  • Cookies & similar technologies — see our Cookie Policy.
  • Payment information — processed by our third-party payment providers; we do not store full card details.

2. How we use your information

  • To provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Service;
  • To create and manage your account and process subscriptions;
  • To communicate with you, including service updates and support;
  • To personalize content and analyze usage and trends;
  • To detect, prevent, and address security or technical issues;
  • To comply with legal obligations.

3. Legal bases for processing

Where applicable law requires, we process personal data on the basis of your consent, the performance of a contract, our legitimate interests, and compliance with legal obligations.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers who work on our behalf, with professional advisers, in connection with a business transfer, or where required by law or to protect rights and safety.

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Service and for legitimate business or legal purposes, after which it is deleted or anonymized.

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we put appropriate safeguards in place for such transfers.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

8.1 Correcting your personal data (Hong Kong)

If you believe any personal data we hold about you is inaccurate, you may make a data correction request under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486). We will comply with a valid request, and give you a copy of the corrected data, within 40 days of receiving it. If we cannot respond fully within 40 days, we will tell you within that period and complete the correction as soon as practicable afterwards.

Where we disclosed the relevant data to a third party in the 12 months before the correction, we will, within the same 40 days, give that third party the corrected data together with a notice stating the reasons for the correction, as required by section 23(1)(c).

We may ask you for information we reasonably need to confirm your identity, and for reasonable supporting evidence to help us assess whether the data is inaccurate, such as original records or documentation. If we are not satisfied that the data is inaccurate, we may decline the request and will notify you in writing of the refusal and our reasons within 40 days, as provided by section 25.

These rights apply to personal data that identifies you. They do not apply to data that has been anonymised so that it can no longer be linked to you, since such data is no longer personal data under the Ordinance.

9. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the "Last updated" date above.
